when the bee stings, when i'm feeling sad
[atrb=border,0px,true][atrb=width,450px,true][atrb=cellpadding,10px,true] the boutiques in takeshita-dori always had people raving about them, it was something that noa could never find herself getting away from. when she eavesdropped, most conversations led back to some stylish unit on the street. a squeal of delight emitted from someone's throat when they realized, 'oh! you got that at fill in the blank! takeshita-dori has the best styles, oh my god, girl!' or boy, but more often than not it was the gaggles of girls that chattered on the note. she had no inclination to disagree, though she never could find herself enjoying a conversation in which ever comment trailed back to some sort of clothing store or sunglasses shop. to be honest, she hadn't known that stores actually specialized in such nonsense. nevertheless, such was why she had come to the strip. it wasn't why she stayed, however. window shopping had only so much appeal, one was sure to know. what kept her standing on the sidewalk was the appearance of a group of bulkier man walking in front of her. most of the stores around them had the target audience of women her age and younger, with mannequins flaunting short dresses and ridiculously adorable bows. on occasion her eyes trailed to look at what was displayed, but nothing kept her attention long enough to stop her from following this group of innocent men. "score?" she muttered as they entered a frilly, pretty-in-pink figurine store. immediately deviating from her set path to follow them, some ten seconds their junior, she found her lips twisting into an inevitable smile. noa felt her body prickle with some expectation as she passed the rainbow swirled lollipops, felt a bounce enter her step as she passed by one of the tail ends of the group. turning her back to look at the rack of cat figures, paw raised in the air, she contemplated for a moment just what to do. then, "what a bunch of wimps, coming to some girly store like this. maybe i should buy them a pink lace thong to go with those bows." |
a tense silence ensued, filled with a couple of wide-eyed stares from other female occupants. the pink-haired student went about her business without looking up, eyes quietly scanning over the array of kimono-clad dolls. one of her fingers jutted out to poke the nose of one of them, her smile stretching to reveal the pink of her gums. the tension gave her goosebumps. "maybe a doll would do them better... but perhaps i'll just check out those mini skirts. maybe i'll be nice and," she turned here, all gums and wide-eyed mirth, "buy you all one? what color do you like better, pink or... who am i kidding, i know the answer to that. pink, right? maybe purple?"
then she turned away, gave a wave of her fingers as she exited the establishment. her smile did not fade as she moved on, moving at the slow pace of the crowd. why? because it couldn't possibly be over, yet. no. of course not. not when a heavy hand fell on her shoulder. "you don't think you can just go around saying those things, do you, missy? that's quite the disgusting mouth you've got on you." yes, perfect.
spinning around, hand moving upwards to pry the bruising grip off her shoulder, noa stared up at her victims of the night. "i do kiss my mother with it, if that was what you were going to ask next," she points out, as though to be helpful. "what's stopping me from saying whatever i'd like?" one of their mouths opened and she quickly blurted out, "before you say, we are, i'd like to inform you that that isn't really an answer. just in case you wanted to know." her eyes darted among the congregation, looking for something. one near the middle looked shifty, continually moving his weight from one foot to the other--nervous. the good duckling brought under the pressure of a group. her lips pursed in vague interest.
"you..." an eyebrow quirked, waited for something. "deserve a good smack in the mo--" noa's eyes flickered open wide, shock and pleasure at such a hasty reaction. "isn't there some rule--don't hit girls or something?" the man grimaced, "not for you." oh, well, damn. time to get out of there, then.
taking a quick step back, noa prepared to turn and flee with her tail tucked between her legs. it seemed that wouldn't be the case, however, for as soon as she began to slide to the side that earlier grip came down, this time on her wrist. "god damn, really?" this felt reminiscent of some other scene, one that noa couldn't conjure up. this just, as a whole, sucked. five guys against one never was fair, anyway. time to get a beating, though. deserved it, didn't she?[/div]
