the triplets riko, rika and riku were in a fight, before the actual contest! the trio of judges were teenagers, but they were a competitive group of kids so they were perfect for this type of contest.
"stupid riko, obviously a traditional sleigh will win!" shouted rika.
the eldest, riko, huffed and puffed and crossed her arms. "rika doesn't know anything, so she should shut up and listen to oneesama! a toboggin is the only way to go!"
well, two of the triplets were fighting. riku sat in his jugding seat, taking a sip of his hot chocolate before monotonously speaking into his microphone. "welcome, everyone. we will begin today's events with an introduction of our contestants." he trailed off, taking another sip of his beverage and coughed.
"in no particularly order, we have takeuchi seimei-san, frohbieter arturo-san, hayashi ko-san, ohayashi lina-san, matsumoto chiharu-san, ai chihiro-san, fuyumine hikaru-san, yamazaki akiko-san, and hayato ike-san." rika and riko had eventually heard the monotone voice of their brother, and headed over to take care of the rest of introductions.
"will the contestants please prepare themselves behind the designated yellow line? the goal is simple: whoever reaches the finish line first wins!" the two girls shouted, their voices booming in the air and could be heard from the other side of town, of course they ended up fighting again about who could say what and... it spiraled out of control.
sighing, riko took up mc-ing again. "on your marks, get set, go."

[atrb=width,80%] "senseiii! do your best!!"
hayato ike wasn't sure how he got into this mess. one moment, he had been student teaching, and the next moment, his kindergarten class had roped him into joining this sled racing event. he was carefully bundled up in a few layers of shirts and pants, and donned a black jacket as he stood hesitantly at the starting line. i... hope this goes well, he thought to himself. he looked over his shoulder to see his whole class, standing on the hill and cheering him on.
he couldn't help but smile and wave back, and look to his choice of vehicle. a traditional sleigh. colored blue, it was nothing unusual. just something out of the ordinary. it's not like he could've built something so suddenly or anything -
"a-ahaha, i hope you do well," he mumbled quietly, turning to look at the contestant beside him. ike readied himself, still hesitant about this whole thing, sitting in his silly little sleigh. he heard the encouragements of his young class, and it brought him some hope. at least he knew that he wasn't going to chicken out and run the hell away last minute. | [atrb=with,20%][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,3,true][atrb=vAlign,top] |

"yeaaah, let's do this!!" arty shouted with a burst of excitement. he had been waiting for this for a long time, ever since he first of the contest, he rushed to sign up. he put on his snowboard goggles and slapped on his snow hat on top of his red head. as you could tell, arty was going to use a snowboard for this race, because well, he had been snowboarding for a while now, so he felt most comfortable with the board. it was sleek and the color of the sky with white streaks going down it.
then the contestant beside him wished him look and arty looked to his side. the young man was black haired and didn't seem like he wanted to do this, but arty just smiled back. "same to you sir! stay safe!" with that, arty waited for the race to begin. did he mention that this was going to be so much fun?

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,3,true][atrb=vAlign,top] | let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, this was supposed to be just a fun little thing. nothing very serious. just a game - for him, and some other members of f&e. it wasn't meant to be a form of babysitting.
"don't lose, ko!"
"kick their butts!"
"yeah!"
scratch that. this wasn't babysitting. it was pure, unadulterated torture. his warm brown eyes hesitantly slid down to where the spectators of the contest stood. it was there, (near an entire gang of what looked like kindergartners) that his two younger sisters grinned happily up at him, waving their gloved hands. those two were going to be the death of him one day, he swore. with their sickly sweet smiles and innocent faces. ai and asami, seven and nine, could be a pair of little demons when they felt like it. and, of course, after ko had caught them sneaking chocolaty snacks before dinner last night, they had effortlessly turned the situation around on him. if he hadn't brought them to asakusa today to watch the race, they would blab to their parents that ko had joined the recently popular dating site forever and ever without their permission. if that happened? goodbye outside life.
with a sigh, ko halfheartedly waved to his sisters at the same time the announcer directed the contestants to the yellow line. he did so, his ride of choice in hand: a red runner sled. he desperately hoped he wouldn't fall off halfway down the hill or anything. it was low to the ground and meant to be laid on, which made it aerodynamic, (that would hopefully give him the speed he needed to win) but also made it more likely for the high schooler to have an accident. he would just have to concentrate on not putting too much weight on either side. stay centered. right.
"good luck," ko smiled to the people on either side of him as he boarded his sled, then waited for the signal to shove off. this was going to be interesting. |

Post by MATSUMOTO CHIHARU on Dec 27, 2010 2:34:24 GMT -5
Chiharu could clearly hear the sound of the snow sloshing beneath her boots as she jogged in the direction of the event. A simple, body-length sled of the color orange was held beneath her arm, and this simple design was one she so confidently trusted would bring her to victory in the snow racing contest. What else could she afford? She'd no other options, and with this single choice, she easily believed it was enough.
Eventually, Chiharu bounced and skidded on her feet, turning right abruptly and a few yards ahead of her was the yellow line, marking the starting point of the race and placed along the line were the contestants, her opponents, dressed for a rough race in the snow just as she had been. A grin remaining on her face, she began to jog forward to join them on the line. A few moments later, she arrived in an empty spot on the line, and she brought forward her sled to grip the two sides with both gloved hands. Maybe a little late of an appearance, but the race hadn't started just yet.
She took a deep breath in, exhaling with a relaxed sigh."Ahh~," she breathed, smiling brightly still, and her dark blue eyes peered down at the hill that lay before them all. "Good luck," she heard at her right, and she blinked, averting her gaze from the path ahead to her side, and spotted a brown-haired male. She blinked again, before that smile returned. "Mmh! Thank you~, good luck to you, too!" Chiharu replied and brought her eyes back to the path ahead once more. Wouldn't be long before that competitiveness came out.
