Everyone knows I'm in over my head, over my head. With eight seconds left in overtime, "Welcome home, Master!"
Another busy day at this particular cafe, consisiting of many girls carelessly prancing around in what men would consider a satisfying attire. These girls, dressed in black and white outfits resembling those of a maid, displayed themselves in such a way to a certain crowd, as if it were their job. Well, mostly because it was. They got paid to provide service any paying customer--the outfit contributed to the amount of said customers. Boys, so easy to entertain sometimes, just so long as you, as a girl, had the very requirements most of them were said to focus on. I'm sure we all are aware of that. However, it hadn't always been that way for every guy.
No, not all guys were as big of pigs that many girls would declare they were. There were plenty of people within the male population that had more on their mind than simply that. Plenty of decent fish in the sea. Our little Chiharu here was determined to find that perfect catch. She was confident she would get her 'happily ever after'. However, this was beside the point.
Back on topic; Chiharu Matsumoto happened to be a maid at this lovely little Maid Cafe. She could possibly take the roll of the most upbeat employee, too. Always bouncing around the room, doing her job correctly, but at the same time dramatically; Sometimes twirling quite like a ballerina; other times making dramatic gestures while speaking loudly; and occasionally greeting a newly-arrived "Master" with her own unique jingle. There was a large variety of the silly things she did while performing her job, which made her so recognizable outside of work to those who came here often.
Currently, Chiharu had been in the kitchen, and for this reason, some portion of the customers' entertainment had been hidden behind the door that had seperated the kitchen and the rest of the building. Past said door, she was speaking with one of the fellow maids. "Ne, Chiharu-san, don't hurt yourself doing those crazy stunts of yours..." was the one thing this maid said to her as she was about to return to the rest of the customers. Chiharu simply smiled back at her reassuringly, and with her one free hand saluted her. "Yessir! But,.. there's no need to worry!" she assured her co-worker, backing out through the door with her other hand holding a tray full of food that a customer had ordered. "I got it alll under contr-- Gaah!"
Rather ironically, right before Chiharu could continue her speech on how fine she was with performing her job's tasks did her heel stumble on the leg of a chair. She was flung backwards, her arms flailing around to where the tray went flying behind her, and she landed on her rear. It all wasn't that surprising of her, in the end. Everyone knew that someday she would make a simple mistake like this. Well.. the thing was, she already had done so. This was, the third time, and it would happen even after she had promised herself she was capable of avoiding this kind of mistake. The other maids' reactions were mostly just bored with it. "It's as if that clumsiness just comes naturally to her," they'd mutter. Dead on. How the hell she still had this job was beyond her and the rest of them.
"S-Sumimasen!"
Chiharu exclaimed, rapidly scrambling to her feet to turn and face the customer to whom the tray's contents were to be given, as they were only a few table away. More anxiously did she hope, for the sake of her job, that there was no one standing in the line of fire where she had gracelessly thrown the tray. she's on your mind, she's on your mind... Momochi wasn't a regular here at the maid cafes but every once and a while he would stop by to hear the, "Welcome home, Master!" that the cafes had become well known for. He figured it made him feel a little high and mighty, their cakes and tea were simply delicious as well. Wearing a simple v-neck shirt and jeans, the tattooed man stepped into the cafe, expecting to hear the normal greeting cooed in a nice, female voice. There it was. Like music to his ears. It brought a smile to his face and he replied with a casual "Thanks." before allowing himself to be guided to an empty chair and table near the back. Ready to sit down, relax, and enjoy a cup of tea, Momochi would not be ready for what was about to happen.
There was little warning, aside from the talking that came from behind the door. He wasn't exactly paying much attention to that and was more than surprised when the platter of food rocketed toward him. It all happened in slow motion, one large cake covered in pink icing and multicolored sprinkles flying in a straight shot towards his face. Now Momochi wasn't slow to react or anything but, for some unknown reason, his body would not move. The cake hit its target, who didn't move a muscle even as the cake slid down his face and onto his clothes before hitting the floor. As if he was still in shock from it all. Well this was just lovely, no? Slowly a hand reached up and gently wiped some icing from his cheek.
He didn't reply when he heard the apology. In fact, he just stood there with a deadpan expression on his face as he brought his hand to his mouth, tongue flicking out to sample his not-so-pleasant surprise. He let the taste sink in for a while before the edges of his mouth curled up ever so slightly. "Well, Master was not expecting this... But at least it tastes good." He looked at the cause of all this with no anger, it wasn't really a big deal after all. "Yeah, it's no biggie. Don't worry about it. You wouldn't happen to have a napkin on you, would you? As delicious as it is, I don't think I could eat all of this off my face by myself."
As he spoke both hands wiped off as much icing as they could, it had literally caked his entire face so he couldn't get all of it though. He concentrated mainly on the area around his eyes so that he could at least see better, casually licking some frosting as it accumulated on his hands.
OOC: Hiiii, I hope you don't mind me hopping in. C: Sorry for not having a pretty post template and all, it's really late and I'm kinda tired.

With a trademark angry kick, Lil smashed her soccer ball in to the side of the buildingl, only to have it bounce back at her. Ducking just in time, her scowl grew even fiercer. Stupid boredom. If she hadn't had nothing else to do, she wouldn't have almost gotten brained by her own soccer ball! All of her friends were either away, busy, or working, the gym didn't need her at the moment and there was no way she was hanging out at home. She tried to avoid that place, and her father, as much as possible. Straightening up, the girl walked over and picked up the ball, throwing it up idly in the air before catching it as she did so. Might as well go visit Chiharu at work. Lil was the first one to admit that she needed watching from time to time, otherwise, some asshole might manage to twist her around his little finger before tossing her in the street. Of course, that meant that she'd have to go back home quickly, to deposit her soccer ball (she'd hate to have it stolen). Scowling even deeper, Lil set off.
Stepping in to the maid cafe after she had dropped her soccer ball off, the girl gazed around, brown-gold eyes searching hawkishly for her best friend. It didn't do her foul expression any good to see most of the maids' outfits. God, some of their skirts were shorter than Lil's own shorts, and that was saying something. At least she wore her long skirt with the long slashes on the sides over it. Shaking her head slightly, Lil forged onwards nonetheless. She was a fairly familiar figure in this cafe by now, seeing as how she generally dropped by to check up on Chiharu and to have a chat. They made some great tea here. You knew tea was good when even Lil drank it.
Now, where was her friend? Lil looked around again, but none of the maids appeared to be her. Suddenly, a clatter and the sound of chaos reached her ears. Before she had even finished automatically turning around, Lil knew it was Chiharu. Clumsiness was one of her more....evident traits. Sure enough, there was her buddy, scrambling to her feet, looking apologetic. Lil took the time to admire the cake on the other person (she assumed he was one of those perverted boys who generally frequented maid cafes; therefore, cake landing on him brightened up her day substantially) before stalking over to the maid. "Hey Chiharu," she said, her voice slightly rusty. "I'd ask what's happening, but..." trailing off with a nod to the man, she let her action speak for itself.
Speaking of the man....glaring, Lil directed the blunt force of her gaze towards him. As she had mentioned before, she had a very low opinion of the boys in maid cafes. This jerk was probably trying to pick up Chiharu or something. Worse part was, if he did, Chiharu would fall for it. She was always blathering on about romance and shit like that, never listening to Lil's sensible advice to try and stay away from 'love'. Of course, she could just be a bit paranoid right now about the guy. Nonetheless, her fists still clenched, but the side of her that wanted to help out Chiharu eventually won out. "Here," she muttered, reaching over to a table and plucking a clean napkin off of it. Scrunching it up, she tossed it to him. There. Her good deed of the day. Someone should give her a medal or something. Words: 597 Notes: Okay, so Lil seems a bit bitter....she's been having a bad day, don't blame her ;D

Everyone knows I'm in over my head, over my head. With eight seconds left in overtime, Sadly, oh so sadly, as Chiharu's eyes traced the direction of her launched tray, those dark blue orbs landed on a customer, who now stood covered in remains of the recently airborne cake. Her eyes widened, and another apology was forced from her again. "Gomen neee!"
she yelped, letting the apology stretch out in desperation. While quickly beginning to walk towards the victim of her mess in an attempt to provide him aid, she observed as the eyes of the many customers soon ended up at this one destination. Like a crowd expecting their show. The carefree chatter among the cafe had turned into mutters of concern; mutters of uncertainty; mutters of adoration. Adoration?... Unknowingly, Chiharu's clumsy acts and cutely obnoxious actions had earned herself, not only recognition, but some sort of fanclub. Apparently, this kind of careless personality was attractive.Upon noticing the blank look outlined beneath the icing on the customer's face, Chiharu halted halfway. She seemed to be holding her breath, just as the surrounding maids had been. They watched with building anxiety as the man lifted a finger to draw a sample of the icing from his face. He lowered it to his lips, and extended his tongue to lick the icing off said finger. Then he stood still for a moment, as if contemplating his satisfactory in the taste. The subtle smile that formed across his lips had hinted at his approval, and the words that had followed said it all. "Well, Master was not expecting this... But at least it tastes good." And with this, the biggest and brightest of grins appeared on none other than Chiharu's face, and she heaved a happy, relieved sigh. "Arigatou gozaimazu!" she said, continuing towards him to break the awkward distance between them. Gradually the eyes of those surrounding them returned to their recent interests. "Yeah, it's no biggie. Don't worry about it. You wouldn't happen to have a napkin on you, would you? As delicious as it is, I don't think I could eat all of this off my face by myself." Chiharu blinked twice before nodding. "Hai! Sure, lemme go get one-," she said, but was cut off when she noticed, in the corner of her eye, a familiar figure and face approaching. Soon came the familiar voice, with the familiar tone in a familiar greeting: "Hey Chiharu." All in all, the familiarities came together to form Lilith Anrui. Oddly, as one would never expect, the fierce, romance-hating Lilith was best friends with the dorky, romance-obsessed Chiharu. They were clear as day opposites but being childhood friends, they had somehow developed a great friendship over time.. So long as they tolerated their stubborn differences. In the end, they were an important part of eachothers' lives. Perhaps the term 'opposites attract' they could make sense of, if only Chiharu wouldn't protest in some sort of "But that phrase is mostly romance-related--I've spotted it in my romance novels countless times!" Or the other way around, where Lilith would make a comment similar to "... That just sounds sappy." Either way, they were weirdly a decent pair of best friends. "Lil-chan!" Chiharu said in slight surprise at the fact that Lilith was here. Then again, she'd visited her on her shifts many times. It wasn't all that shocking. "I'd ask what's happening, but..." Chiharu spotted the nodding gesture made by Lilith towards the man, who'd still been covered in the cake, reminding her she still needed to offer him a couple napkins. Instead, Lilith beat her to it. The brown-haired girl approached a nearby table and, grabbing a napkin from one of the designated containers, tossed the man what he had requested. This widened the smile on Chiharu's face and while not aware of how much her friend disliked the male population within this cafe, not to mention how much Lilith must have dreaded helping them in any way, Chiharu offered her two thumbs up. "Good job!" she exclaimed, as if proud of her friend, before returning to face the man with a more concerned attitude. "Ne, would you like help?" Chiharu asked, swiping up a napkin of her own from an empty table beside them, one that she could use to help him wipe himself off if he accepted her offer. she's on your mind, she's on your mind... TAGS;; Momochi, Lilith // open WORDS;; 712 NOTES;; ohoho, this ought to be fun. Oh how Momochi loved the atmosphere he created as he slowly sampled the cake on his face. The spectators all watching anxiously to see how he reacted while the young girl in front of him hoped he wouldn't be too angry with her. It was all very suspenseful. Something he was very much used to, given his occupation. Even the maid's expression, after he had smiled softly, was strangely similar to the reaction he got from his audience. Mostly relieved but also very happy that nothing bad came out of what had happened. Anyways, the show had ended, which meant it was time to clean up.
He was just about to get his requested napkin too, until the arrival of another girl grabbed the maid's attention, whose name appeared to be Chiharu. Looking at the newcomer's clothes, it was obvious that she wasn't a worker here. So was she a friend? That's what it seemed like. They looked around the same age too, so they probably knew each other from school. Momochi casts these thoughts from his mind, why did it matter to him if they were friends? What mattered to him now was cleaning the frosting from his face. He wanted that napkin! And he would receive it shortly, not from Chiharu but from her friend, dubbed Lil-chan. Only after receiving a surprisingly intense glare first. He had no idea what this girl thought of him for coming here, he could only wonder what he had done to even deserve such a look. Seriously, if looks could kill, he would melt right then and there until there was only his clothing left. Momochi looked left then right, an innocent look plastered on his face, before looking back at the girl. Her body was tense and she had her fists clenched, as if she wanted to just punch him hard in the face. He returned this harsh look with one of confusion, silently asking her if he did something wrong. It was him who got a cake thrown into his face, wasn't it? In fact, he was so taken aback and confused by this treatment that he failed to catch the napkin she tossed at him.
"Sorry..?" It was unclear whether he was apologizing for dropping the napkin, the napkin she so kindly gave to him, or for doing whatever it was that he had done to deserve the sudden hostility. The daredevil crouched down, plucking the napkin quickly from the ground, and wiped his cheek and forehead clean. He softly said one word, "Thanks." to Lilith before continuing to clean his face until the point where the napkin was almost completely covered in frosting. Which was preferred over having his face covered in the stuff. There was just small amounts left on the outer edges of his face so when Chiharu offered her help, he gladly accepted. I mean, he didn't want to be rude and say it aloud but it was her fault he had cake on his face in the first place. Maybe if she helped clean it off she would feel better. Also, he would feel a little safer if she was in between him and her fierce friend. Maybe he could use her as a human shield in case her friend finally decided to lunge and tear his throat open. "Uh, yeah I could use a little help... It's Chiharu right? Well thanks, Chiharu."
OOC: Whew, I've never been a big fan of post templates to be honest. But yes, this should be lots of fun. I love me some chaos.

For the tiniest moment, Lil let her angry glare fall and grinned a tiny smile at Chiharu, before quickly reverting. The girl was her best friend, after all, one that she had known for what felt like forever. Since they were children, when Lil’s household had been a teensy bit less dysfunctional than it was now. Her mom had at least still been living with her around that time period. If anyone understood her and her furious disregard for love, it was Chiharu. The girl could only hope that one day, the other one would take a leaf out of her book and stop swooning over her cheesy romances and eye-twitchingly corny movies. If Lil never had to watch another one of those things again, she would probably cry tears of joy and fall to her knees in gratitude. But she couldn’t see that happening anytime soon with Chiharu.
“See? My people skills are just improving every day, aren‘t they, Chiharu?” she asked, with her usual edge of slight sarcasm imbedded in the words. She never used the Japanese honorifics with names, unlike the whole of her father’s family. She just took after her English mother, she supposed, whom she had never heard once refer to anyone using any sort of honorific. Old habits died hard, as did the frown on her face, which only grew deeper as Chi rushed off to help the other guy, the one she had thrown a napkin to. He had missed catching it, unfortunately. Clearly, this guy had never been on the softball team at school.
At least he was nice enough to apologize, though he did so with a confused sort of tone. He probably thought that she had just randomly seen him and though, “Hey! I’ll despise this guy, just for the kicks!” but that wasn’t it. Lil had no special animosity reserved towards him. She just didn’t like most people in general, so she kept the intense expression up all the time. At least he was treating Chiharu politely. Lil appreciated that. If he hadn’t, she’d have had to punch him in his throat, thus starting a giant fight. And somehow, she doubted that the maid café where her friend worked was a good place to do that. So she was a bit protective, at least she was considerate while doing it. The guy hadn’t done anything to earn her hatred yet, so she would give him the benefit of doubt for Chiharu…..at least for now.
Drawing in a deep breath, she allowed herself to relax a bit, before scowling at the cluster of customers and maids gathered around the scene, causing them to scatter with a few hurried mutters. The girl glowered. Stupid hens. After that was done, she relaxed her face a bit and walked up to where the other two were. It was still creased by a slight frown, but it was a change from before. “Maybe he‘d like to sit, Chiharu?” she suggested, motioning to the empty table. She know she would, if she had been hit by cake. Okay, maybe not. But she’d have liked to sit down after she was done berating and yelling at the person who had thrown the cake. This guy was much calmer than her. Then again, who wasn’t? ”I‘m Lil,” she announced abruptly, since it appeared that introductions were in order. She’d try to be civil for her buddy’s sake. “And you are…?” Words: 573 Notes: Fancy templates confuse me X.X I'll stick with simple icons, thanks! X3

Everyone knows I'm in over my head, over my head. With eight seconds left in overtime, "Uh, yeah I could use a little help... It's Chiharu right? Well thanks, Chiharu." A soft smile formed on her face as she heard it, feeling somewhat proud in having brought a thank you from one who was playing the role of her Master. But being reminded of this, she laughed a bit uncomfortably, and shook her head. "No, no,"
she insisted and brought her eyes up to meet his. "If anything, I should be thanking you, Master. Having spilled this cake on you and all, I should be grateful that you forgave me." Even as she had rejected his gratitude, she began to softly wipe at the remaining pieces of the cake that bordered most of his face. For a moment as she did so, she appeared so calm, with a gentle look upon her face. As opposed to her normally being so hyper and intense, it was surprising, for some, to see her be so quiet and delicate. She made her way down, wiping off the cake with the single napkin, but would reach for another one when the first was unable to pick up any more of the cake. As her eyes lowered to watch her own task, she spotted the tattoos that climbed up from his torso and along his neck. Chiharu blinked, examining them and her task had halted for a short few seconds. But she quickly snapped out of it with a small shake of the head and continued. She'd been wiping at the top of his shirt now, which had recieved a few splatters of the cake as well. Soon enough she heard, from somewhere behind her, Lilith suggest she seated this customer. Chiharu hadn't removed her gaze from the napkin in her hand that was running along the man's shirt, but she spoke up, distractedly, "Just a second.. He did say he wanted help.." "I'm Lil. And you are...?" Chiharu paused, throwing a glance back at her friend as she introduced herself. It was rather sudden, but Chiharu assumed Lilith may have been bored with simply referring to the man as him and he and was attempting to earn a name from him. Or she just wanted to act polite for once. As odd as it was, Chiharu couldn't help but smile. However, it quickly disappeared as she shook her head. "I-I don't think that's necessary." After all, being a maid, she had to refer to each customer as her Master. Hearing a different name by which she could refer to them would make it a bit complicated for her. Usually, her customers weren't all too familiar, so she wouldn't be urged to call them by their original name, and instead 'Master' as she was supposed to. Lil didn't really count, since she really was just a visiting friend rather than a customer most of the time. Chiharu turned her head forward to face the man again, her expression seeming a bit worried. "You don't... have to give us your name," she assured him, with her grip on the napkin tightening awkwardly and she glanced from side to side.
