as usual, shouta went out for another night at behind the bar table. it wasn't extremely late, but still, his current boss told him to come a little earlier today because apparently it was a 'special' occasion. it was most likely that his boss had something to do, but still wanted the bar to open, and of course, shou had to be the one who was chosen to come early to the bar to prepare it for when it opened this evening. shou let out a sigh as he opened the rusty door to the bar and flicked on the lights. at least he didn't have a lot of homework, and he managed to finish it all before his boss had called him. the last thing he wanted was to have the thought that he still had homework to complete after his job tonight.
shou turned the closed sign around so that it now the open side of the sign was facing the door. he started to take out cups and the sort, and lighted the candles that were on the tables. and then, he went into the changing room and changed into his bartender uniform, a simple collared white shirt with a black vest and black slacks. he didn't button the shirt completely and he rolled his sleeves. and then, he started to open some bottles up and a couple of minutes later, people started filing into the bar and shou began serving them. and thank god the other workers of the bar also started to come it, and shou was just left behind the bar twirling a wine glass with his fingers.
"i hope it isn't going to be a busy night..." all that was left for him to do was work out until most of the customers left and then he would be able to go back home. waiting, that was the hardest thing to do.

Kameko squinted her purple eyes as she gazed down the busy streets of the Roppongi District. IT wasn’t to her surprise that there were a lot of people out tonight, it was like this just about any other night. People yapping on their cell phones, the loud bass of music, it was everything that Kameko needed to keep her alert. Why was she out here at night you ask? Well because one of her favorite bands were performing at a bar tonight. She squirmed her way through the crowd with a huff, Kameko would throw a fit if they started playing without her and would possibly just go home.
A sigh escaped the eighteen year olds lips as she walked into the bar, of course just like the streets of Roppongi it was crowded inside too. Lucky for her the band was still getting ready for their performance. Kameko couldn’t help but to smile slightly as she made her way towards the bar sitting on a stool. She didn’t mind much that she was alone; it was nice to have a little time to herself. She couldn’t help but to glance down the bar staring at a group of girls leaning over the bar laughing and giggling. Thanks to her curiosity she continued to watch the scene unfold. From what it looked like they were flirting with the bartender that was making them drinks and as she looked closer, "S-shouta!" she squeaked before blushing that some stares landed on her.
Shouta was one of her childhood friends and as much as she denied it she had a girly crush on the guy and with him being around those girls just made something inside her jealous. She poked out her bottom lip as she slid out of the seat and began to make her way over towards the group. "Um, I don't think it's a good idea to flirt with him..." she began fiddling with her shirt for a moment as they looked at her. She pointed over towards a random girl in the crowed. "His girlfriend wouldn't be so happy to see strangers talking to her man. She has a mean right hook too." she finished in fear. Just as planned the group slowly just eased away to find someone else to mess with now she had to wonder why she said something like that in the first place.

after serving a couple of people, shou’s cell phone started ringing, and he picked it up. ”hello? oh hey…alright…fine, sure thing, see you later then.” shou put away his phone back into his pocket with a sigh. Of course his boss had to tell him just now that a band was coming into the bar to perform. great, that means that he’ll be working late then for tonight. Then, a group of young girls, all who appeared to be younger than shouta, came into the bar, and once they set eyes on him, you could see a gleam in their eyes. they immediately moved themselves in front of shouta with smiles and some of them were giggling. ”uhm, may i get you ladies a drink?” that only brought up more bursts of giggles from them, but they ordered their drinks and shou started to prepare them.
”so, what’s your name?” ”how old are you?” ”are you in high school?” ”oh my gosh, which one?” shou was bombarded with these questions, and he just gave out short answers to the ones he felt like answering. shou knew from experience that they were trying to flirt with him, but to be honest, he was not interested in them in any way. shou handed them their drinks, and looked up at the clock that hung from the wall to the right of him. there still was time before the band arrived, so at least he could try and enjoy the ‘relaxation’ he had now before the band came. then, the bell attached to the door rang as another customer entered. shou didn’t even bother answering until he heard his name ”s-shouta!” shou looked up to see who called him, and then he saw the face of kameko with her long flowing orange hair.
”ka-“ shou didn’t even have time to finish saying kameko’s name when she started walked forward towards the group of girls in front of shouta and told them that he already had a girlfriend. to his relief, the group left without complaint, and shou was actually thankful to kameko for that, but then he knew he didn’t have a girlfriend. at least, he was pretty sure about that. ”thanks for getting rid of those girls kameko, though, i don’t have a girlfriend you know that…” either way, shou owed kameko for that, so he might as well pay the debt now while he could. ”here, buy a drink, it’s on me, so choose anything.” shou knew kameko ever since his childhood and they were really close friends. besides, kameko always brought some smiles to shou when he was under the weather. ”so, kinda surprising seeing you here. are you here for the band?”

She let out a nervous laugh running her fingers through her hair. Of course he didn't have a girlfriend what else was she suppose to say? "I know~ it looked like mommy was getting annoyed." she said quickly coming up with a lame excuse, it was sad after all these years she never had enough courage to tell the boy her feelings. Something always held her back, maybe it was the fact that so many other girls wanted to talk to him. She felt intimidated so she just ignored her feelings, she liked the friendship they had and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. She swung her feet for a moment as she flashed a smile towards him. "I didn't know you worked here! Do you like it?" she asked tilting her head slightly with curiosity.
Kameko shook her head in objection, "Oh no it's okay you don't have to..." her voice trailed off after seeing someone with a strawberry daiquiri that just looked oh so delicious, "C-can I have that?" she said suddenly as if she were a child asking for some candy. Kameko always acted like a child around Shouta most of the time, he was one of the few that actually knew her personality as a whole which she was grateful for.
Her eyes looked over at the stage, a grin grew on her face with a nod "Of course I came here for the band! Their great, that have so many good songs. They make me want to become some famous rock-star" she gushed before laughing slightly returning her gaze towards her friend. "Have you listened to them before? If not, I'm very disappointed in you." she ended with a pout crossing her arms. She loved music and she loved exploring the different genres of music too. Rock, jazz, kpop, jpop, just about anything that came to mind she was in love with.

shou chuckled at kame's concern with a gentle smile. ever since he had met her in his childhood, she and aki had been calling him 'mommy' because of his last name. at first, shou had insisted on being called 'shou' but eventually the nickname grew on him. there were even sometimes on the streets that if a person's voice was similar to that of kame's or aki's that said 'mommy' shou would actually turn to the direction in which the voice came from, which was pretty embarrassing at some points of time.
"hm? oh, well, i technically don't work here permenately." now that shou thought about it, he had never told aki or kame what he did to keep a roof on top of his head and at least fill his stomach partially. "i basically work at any bar that needs a bartender, but i've been working here for a week, and it's pretty nice here." shou already had a cup out when kame started to object, but he just replied, "no, no, it's fine, and you want the strawberry daiquiri? coming right up!" shou swiftly made the drink and as another treat, he a pineapple which he stuch on the side of the cocktail cup and added a mini umbrella as well. "here you go, hope you enjoy kame."
shou grinned as kame began on talking about music. "i can't say i've heard of them before, and i'm not sure whether or not i've listened to their music either. you know i can only get my own music on rare occasions." yeah, shou was quite poor, but that didn't matter, he still worked hard enough and did well in school, so that was fine with him. then the bell on the door rang again, and shou saw a large group coming in and judging by their clothes, they were the band that was performing. "looks like the band's here." shou said excitedly "i'll be right back!"
with that, shou helped the band prepare the stage and then once he was sure they were okay, he went back behind the bar counter, and leaned on top of it with his shoulders on the top. then the band started playing, and shou's smile grew. "oh, it seems i have heard of this band, fortunate for me then. so kame, how have you been these days? i haven't seen you in a while."
